THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF PROJECTS - YOU MUST CHOOSE ONE
Once you have selected your inquiry question, you will need to determine what type of project you are doing.
- Will you conduct and design an experiment to test a hypothesis?
- Will you challenge yourself with an innovation, by inventing something new or utilizing an existing technology in a new way?
- Will you conduct a scientific study? Which is a statistical analysis of previously completed scientific work.
This type of project should involve the use of original scientific experiment(s) to test a specific hypothesis. The student(s) should demonstrate excellent skills in the collection, analysis and presentation of data. The more trials the better!

This type of project should involve the development and evaluation of a new devices, models, theorems, physical theories, techniques, or methods in technology, engineering, computing, natural science, or social science. It must demonstrate how the invention was designed/developed, and the student(s) must have used sound understanding of scientific, engineering or technological principles involved.

This type of project should involve the analysis of, and possibly collection of, data or facts using accepted methodologies from the natural, social, biological , or health sciences. Projects should demonstrate insightful analysis of data collected by other reliable sources to reveal evidence of a fact, situation or pattern of scientific interest.
